Our Mission
Desert Christian Center’s purpose as a local congregation is to witness to the world of God’s love as revealed in His son Jesus Christ, our crucified, risen Savior; Healer, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit; and exalted and soon-returning King.
Our Vision
We seek to set Jesus Christ in the highest place through worship, believing that as he is exalted, His presence is manifested to save, heal, and deliver all who experience Him.
We seek to touch the lives of the people of our city and the world through intercession, believing that to intercede means to live on behalf of others as well as to pray on behalf of others for the purpose of seeing them reconciled to God through Christ.
We seek to preach and teach God’s Word in the power of the Holy Spirit for the equipping of the Body of Christ for ministry with a desire to see each believer’s God-ordained, created purpose fulfilled.
What We Believe
The Bible as God's Authoritative Word
The Bible, God's Word, is our source of life guidance and our final authority in a faith-filled Godly lifestlye.
Praise and Worship
The praise and woarship of God is a priority in our relationship to Him as a congregation and as individuals. He is enthroned on the praises of His people and in His presence His life is released.
Prayer and Intercession
God's house is to be called a house of prayer. Prayer and intercession are essential in our partnership with Him to accomplish His purposes in the earth. We can do nothing of value without Him.
Spirit-filled Living
The "Promise of the Father" is the gift of the Holy Spirity. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is the restoration of the original relationship with God (lost in the garden), and the empowering and resourcing of each believer for a faithful witness and service through His gifts.
Stewardship and Giving
All of life releases in giving - giving of our tithes and offerings, our time and resources, our talents and gifts. All that we have we have been given by God. Our responsibility is to steward these in obedience to Him.
Relationship and Commitment to the Body of Christ and its Unity
The Body of Christ is a multi-faceted, multi-ethnic, global family in which unity is not only essential, but commanded. To love, serve, and see relationship and unity with each other, commands the blessing of God. Flowing out of our relationship with Jesus Christ comes the ability to be rightly related to each other.
The first and greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. The second is to love your neighbor as yourself. We believe that the Kingdom of God is built upon relationships, first with Jesus, and then with each other.
